Dental/Vision Coverage

MTD Benefits offers a variety of Dental and Vision plans through many carriers to best suit your needs, as we are aware of the importance of these two types of coverage. Most clients do not realize that Medical plans do not include any dental coverage at all and will only cover medical conditions of the eye. Things such as vision exams and glasses are not covered under most health insurance plans.

Dental Insurance

With dental insurance you want to start by finding out what plan works best with the specific dentist that you wish to see. A large portion of dentists today will say they are not in network with any dental plan but will bill any PPO dental plan. If this is the case, then it is imperative you make sure that you find a plan that pays the same amount if you are in OR out of network. After this, you want to make certain that the coverage you have found correctly matches your needs. Client needs vary from one to another, some clients go for only preventative care while others are more prone to need dental work such as fillings and root canals; therefore, it is imperative you purchase the plan that best suits your specific needs.

Vision Insurance

Vision insurance can be quite confusing if you do not properly analyze the details. For example, you want to look into whether or not your plan covers frames every twelve months or every twenty-four months. Additionally, it is important to see whether your plan covers both glasses and contacts in the same year or if its only covers one or the other.  It is also imperative to make sure your provider accepts the specific plan you have selected.
